The code means "Error Integrated Unit" and means the main ECU can't communicate with the Body Integrated Unit; the BIU is the ECU that controls the air con, the security for the stereo and various other non-engine related stuff. The manual states to check supply voltage to the BIU if you see this message, as the first fault-finding step so presumably low battery voltage is enough to upset the communications. Disconnecting the battery for a while should clear it but it may go away of its own accord once you've used the car a bit.
